Dear Parent,
As the school year gets underway, I wanted to remind you of several upcoming events here
at
1. Materials for our Candy and Gift Sale will be sent home on Monday,
September 15th. Our Candy Sale is not mandatory, and we won’t charge you a fee if you choose not to sell. However, the candy sale allows us to purchase big ticket items like buses, desks, chairs and to make much needed renovations likechanging the tiles in the school without significantly increasing our tuition.
2. Piano lessons will start on Monday, September 29th. Each student will get 30 minutes of piano instruction per week. The cost per session will be $10. This
means that for October the cost will be $50. If any parent wants their child to take more than one lesson per week, please let us know, and we will work to arrange it with the piano teachers. Please sign the attached consent form, and return it with the $50 cash payment by Wednesday, September 24th. If any parent is interested in having their child learn another instrument other than piano, please let us know, and we will try to accommodate you as best we can.
3. Our first school holiday is the observance of Columbus Day on Monday, October 13th.
4. School Photo Day for kindergarten, both first grade classes and second grade will be on Thursday, October 16th. Grades 3 through 6 will take their photos on Friday, October 17th. We will send home an order form on or before Wednesday, October 8th.
5. The Parent-Teacher Conference is scheduled for Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th. There are no classes that day. Please do not wait until the conference if you want to speak with your child’s teacher. We encourage you to stay in close contact with our faculty.
6. Please encourage your child to always bring home these letters from school. They contain important information you need to know. You can also check out our
website, www.regentschool.com, under the heading “Current Events” to read the
most recent letter to parents. That is all for now. As always, feel free to call or visit if you have any questions or concerns.

2. Parents who bring their children to school are not permitted to go into their child’s classroom after 8:45 A.M. Your child’s teacher will be preparing for her day and will need some time to plan her first lesson. She will need this time to review so that she can be as productive as possible. Please, if you need to speak with her, tell the secretary and we will schedule an appointment.
3. Parents who pick up their children are to wait in the lobby for their son/daughter.The secretary will go to your child’s classroom and get him/her for you.
4. All children who are not in the After School Program (ASP) and who are not on the 3 P.M. bus or in kindergarten are to be picked up by no later than 3:10 P.M.
5. The school uniform is to be worn at all times and by all students even if it’s their birthday. Students are not allowed to dress down at anytime, unless a letter is sent home stating suspension of the uniform policy for a particular day. If there is inclement weather, (rain, snow), students can wear boots to school but they must also bring their shoes to change into once at school.
